The environments and art style are cool so far, and I look forward to playing more.. I recommend this if:-you are a fan of the anime and wish to see more content of its beloved characters-you are patient-the game is on saleThis game was a fun time but certain mechanics made it extremely frustrating at times, which is why i cannot recommend it at its full price. The Good:-7 playable characters, with unique spells and perks-a whole bunch of spells to learn, upgrade, and use to defeat enemies-fun story and character interactions-a few animated scenes that look just like the anime-level up system and accessories to raise your stats-looping music doesn't get annoying-you can adjust the difficulty at any timeThe Decent-a whole bunch of fetch quests and running around, depends if you like it or not-no english dub, but the voices are very similar in tone imo-certain quests require some grinding-drop rates are ok, but the game doesn't tell you that if you set your game to a higher difficulty = more drops (which could've saved me so much time)The Not-So-Good:-boss fights: you either one shot a boss or you have to wait for the boss to be in range or damageable (which can take pretty long when the cycle RNG is inconsistent)-your AI partners in dungeons aren't very helpful when they keep knocking back the enemies out of bounds-repetitive voice lines when you spam attacks get annoying very quickly-the fast travel system lacks, so you still end up running around a whole bunch-some quests aren't very clear about what you need to do and take a lot of guessing or just looking up a guide. I loved the game (even if i still haven`t finished it yet), apart from my love for the Anime and the Manga, i can say that the game is very good made, and is even understandable if you haven`t watched the anime yet, why this? well the game let you have the posibility of show you some introductions, or Re-Introductions to some characters and the serie itself, and here where this game does it very good, as you know this game is most lika "squel" or a "Addicional" to the serie story, and as many other sequels they show you some introductions to "familiar-characters" of the previous parts but in some cases they force you to watch it (and yes i know in some you can skip them, but is annoying too) or in some others they just not appear (Like in Half Life 2), and the chance to choose if you wanna play the cinematics is something really good if you already know the characters or not.Besides some strange animations, i see that it tries to reflect the Trigger style, and they achieve it in some way.Other detail are some cutscenes that are not from the anime, i know could be a little thing, but is a nice detail to see them. Also, as many other PC ports the controls are not something perfect, but are not as confusing as in other games.I recommend it to everyone who like RPG games, even of you don`t like the serie or the anime in general is a good tittle to enjoy alone or with a friend.978/1000Another weird thing is that the game have Trading Cards, but the steam tag doesn`t show that. xD. sucy is waifu. Update after 18 hours) The combat portion becomes more fun, once better spells are unlocked and more MP are available (mostly with Diana, who has a huge MP-Pool). The support NPCs become less boring, once an established primary character has a sufficient lead in level to actually do most of the damage.Sadly, equipping the characters is a chore, as the system doesn't allow filtering out items that the characters don't have a sufficient level for / that are already equipped by other characters. The game really needs an "auto-equip" option; Doing it manually doesn't add depth in any desirable sense. The exploration gameplay becomes increasingly interesting, as you get used to it and find ways to get an abundance of teleport-potions. The map however doesn't help with it, as it distinguishes only between unfinished and redoable finished quests, but will gladly direct you to subevents, where you have nothing to do on a given day. (E.g. lucky coins on a day where you don't plan to collect them, or quest-givers of resource-gathering quests, where you don't have anything to hand in yet.)The game also lacks a mechanism to skip forward to the next time-window; You can go to Akkos bed and sleep, but (a) this has you either waste teleportation potions or wait it out where you are and (b) doesn't allow skipping forward exactly to the next time-window and skipping in whole hours either over- or under-shoots the intended waiting time.Overall, the mixed impression of "sort of recommended" remains.–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––(After 5-6 hours) Rather mixed impression. If I could I'd give it a "can't decide rating". Definitely only recommended for fans of the show. Might redo the review after longer play-time.It feels somehow wrong to recommend the game, yet somehow I can't see myself not finishing it, so I assume that translates into a recommedation?⊕ The dialog is cute and well-made, with the voice-cast of the show. Whenever I find a nice new exchange, it puts a smile on my face.⊖ Running around Luna Nova is fun, at least initially, simply by being given a 3D set to explore. Sadly, a mixture of frequent scene-changes (they are really needlessly sectionized by standards of modern hardware), combined with fetch-quests sending you back and forth, quickly drains the novelty.⊖ The brawler sections are shallow and unsatisfying, and feel tucked-on so far.⊖ So far, the unlock system that requires a limited currency to progress in quest lines, and even for fast-travelling and unlocking save-points (!) feels pretty pointless.Overall, all the anime parts are worthwhile, the padding in between is... just that.. Must have if you like Little Witch Academia series!. LWA:CoT is a great game if you're a fan of the anime and want more content, it fills the gaps left by the show, which didn't give much screentime to anyone that wasn't Akko and her closer friends, and gives the other students and the teachers a moment to shine. The dungeon parts are easy and you can break the game by enchanting items, so you might be disappointed if you wanted a real challenge, but on the other hand it makes it faster to just breeze throught the battles and go back to running around the school and helping everybody on their quests. I liked the magic system based on constellations, but the whole buff/debuff spells seemed to be useless.I wish they had added a "character bio" section in the bestiary, where you could unlock all the background characters info, related quests and the place they're located at each hour of the day.. I unfortunatly can't recommand this game at its current price...There's just too many issues for a full price game.I'm sad, considering I'm quite the fan of the Little Witch Academia franchise and there's lots of elements who are either interesting or genuinely great (The game is fully voice acted in japanese, the design of the characters is great, some of the rpg elements seem interesting)...But the core gameplay is awful, the movements in the school are sluggish (not the characters movements themselfs, but there's just so many rooms with loading time between EACH room, and in a limited time, Majora's mask like, setting...).I'd love to be able to recommand this game, but I just can't T-T
